You can focus on your career and/or business once you stop wasting time watching TV. You’ll get many hours back each day to work on chores that will help you get closer to your ultimate objective, whatever it is.
You can spend more time with your family and friends and actually talk if you don’t waste so much time in front of the television. Communicating about what’s going on in each other’s lives or what’s going on in the globe can help you establish more meaningful relationships.
3. Think clearer and sharper
Because of the bad content, subliminal programming, and advertising on television, watching it slows down your brain activity. It sends negative messages to your brain, generates excessive expectations, and makes you feel like your life isn’t good enough.
4. Develop a healthier self-esteem
Many TV shows promote unreasonable expectations by sending the wrong message about self-love, happiness, and achievement. Very gorgeous people go on incredible adventures or perform fascinating things on television shows.
5. Live healthier
Because most TV viewing is done while seated, it encourages a sedentary lifestyle. Due to the fact that many individuals work while sitting at desks all day, our culture is already more sedentary than previous generations.

You can save money and cut your electricity cost by canceling your television subscriptions. Cable subscriptions aren’t cheap, and if you can save money on that one bill every month, you’ll have a lot more money to spend on more significant things.
7. Become better role models to children
Children learn from their parents, and they are currently being socialized to live sedentary lives by watching television. They will imitate you if they witness you glued to television as a child. Television has been demonstrated to have detrimental impacts on children, both because of its influence and because it keeps them from being active, according to research.
How to kick watching tv all day
1. Have replacement activities
You must replace the old habit with something new for any successful habit change to occur. Here are a few recommendations:
- Start a business that you enjoy. Why not start a new business now that you have more free time? Part-time at first, with no strings attached, and see where it takes you. It’s a fantastic chance to hone your abilities while still making money doing something you enjoy.
- Spend time with your pals. Do you have any buddies you haven’t seen in a while? Perhaps now is the moment to catch up with them. Go out and have a good time. Indoors is fine, as long as you don’t wind up watching TV!

Being a cable TV subscriber makes you feel obligated to keep viewing in order to get the most out of your membership. Unsubscribe right now if you’re serious about cutting TV out of your life. Forget about the cable lineup — not only will you reclaim a significant portion of your time, but you will also save money.
3. Limit your TV viewing every day
If quitting TV right away is too difficult, try by restricting your TV consumption. If you’re a big TV watcher, start by limiting yourself to two hours every day. Then gradually reduce to 1.5 hours, then 1 hour, and finally 30 minutes. It’ll be easy to just stop watching in the near future. In fact, by that time, you’ll have seen so many of the benefits of not watching TV that you’ll be ready to give it up entirely.
4. Work on your goals
Even if it’s only for 30 minutes a day, you’ll be shocked at how far you’ll come in such a little time. I began working on my personal goals, including my future aspirations, for at least 30 minutes per day in 2007. I was ready to quit my day job and pursue my passion after a year. Today, I run my personal development firm full-time and do what I love. Start working on your goals today, and you’ll notice results quickly.
5. Don’t catch new shows
I stopped viewing new shows when I chose to quit watching them. I kept watching old episodes that were still on the air, such as Prison Break (on DVD), but I stopped watching new shows like Ugly Betty and Gossip Girl. With the conclusion of the “classic” shows, my TV viewing came to an end as well.
6. Put away your TV
One of my readers gave up her television five years ago. Her family (her, her husband, and her son) has spent a lot more quality time together since then, playing board games and writing notebooks together once a week. If getting rid of your TV is too drastic, consider storing it. Another reader experienced the same thing. Her parents didn’t want her to grow up with the harmful effect of television when she was little. They, on the other hand, couldn’t bear to get rid of the television. In the end, they decided to store the television in a closet. As a result, she grew up without watching television and had more time to pursue other interests.
