Sometimes in life, you find yourself a holding pattern, forced to delay when you dearly desire to act. You want to take the field, but the big game hasn’t even started yet. What else can you do but wait? Here’s what you can do:
Be patient. As author Joyce Meyer said, “Patience is not the ability to wait but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.”
Be strong. As Edward George Bulwer-Lytton, another author, said, “Patience is not passive; on the contrary, it is active; it is concentrated strength.”
Be planful. Some wise individual observed, “The day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit.”
Last but not least, be present in the moment you find yourself. Sometimes you have to let go of the picture of what you thought life would be like and learn to find joy in the story you’re living.
You are watching: Patience is not the ability to wait
Don’t worry. Before you know it, your big game will start. When it does, play to the final whistle.
