Acid attack on 17-yr-old girl in Jalalabad

Police have arrested two youths for allegedly throwing acid on a minor girl in Jalalabad, a subdivision of Fazilka district, on Friday evening.

Vicky, 22, of Jalalabad, allegedly used to stalk a 17-year-old girl, a student of BA-1. She had objected to his advances and also complained about him to her family, following which he had assured not to trouble her. But on Friday, when the girl was returning home after a tuition class, Vicky and his friend Sagar, allegedly threw acid on her. She received burns on her back and was admitted to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot.

Police have registered a case under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 326-A (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by use of acid, etc) of the Indian Penal Code against the accused.
