- The White House announced the appointment of an Indian-American engineer Manjit Singh, co-founder of the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund, to a key administration post.
- Singh is now a member of Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and neighbourhood Partnerships.
- Singh is the founder and president of Agilious, a consulting firm. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Guru Gobind Singh Foundation and is a Member-at-Large of The Board of the Interfaith Conference of Metropolitan in Washington. Singh received an MS from the State University of New York and did his Bachelor’s in Engineering from the University of Bombay.
